Love Our Places
DESIGNED TOGETHER.
EXPERIENCED TOGETHER.
DESIGNED TOGETHER. EXPERIENCED TOGETHER.
Love Our Places has a legacy of creative placemaking and intervention. Using Tactical Urbanism as a launching point, Love Our Places has grown into a design assistance program that focuses on taking the ideas of our neighbors, citizens and community organizations and turning them into visual constructible concepts with neighborhood identity and culture and the cities design principals in mind. To learn more about the program please download the guidebook or RSVP to one of our design demonstrations and get your questions answered.

My favorite public space is…
Lake Merritt in Oakland, California. It’s a beautiful urban space with great architecture, green space and serves as a great cultural gathering space for “The Town.”
ALEXIS CALVIN-EPPS
PROGRAM MANAGER, DESIGNER
My favorite public space is…
Downtown Park in Cary, North Carolina. The park is incredible because the designer intentionally thought about how the design would function during the day and at night.
KARYN REDDICK
PROJECT MANAGER, DESIGNER
My favorite public space is…
The Emerald Necklace in Boston, MA. The Emerald Necklace is a 1,100-acre greenway that connects residents from downtown Boston to the suburb of Brookline, while offering a backyard to city locals.
ASHLEY SHORTER
PROJECT MANAGER, DESIGNER
My favorite public space is…
Westside Reservoir Park in Atlanta. It celebrates the history of a neighborhood that played a vital role in the development of the city. This 100-year-old granite quarry was repurposed into a reservoir with trails, meadows, and lush landscapes for residents and visitors alike.

PROJECT MANAGER, DESIGNER
HONORING THE LEGACY
RETIRED LOP PROJECTS
To support public health guidelines for local food and beverage establishments while also creating vibrant streets, the City of Atlanta’s Love Our Places provided parklet structures to 16 businesses.
